91E Now Available as Pre-Amplifier Only

The 91E Integrated Amplifier is now available as a pre-amplifier only. This new option allows listeners to pair their existing power amplifier and loudspeakers with the 91E’s award-winning features and powerful, single-ended triode performance. At the core of the 91E family is the 300B Electron Tube which—even when applied in this new, pre-amp environment—delivers the control, musicality, and cool clarity hi-fi lovers have come to expect over many decades. The 91E’s patented SCCS circuitry remains fully intact, ensuring safe, smart, noise-free operation.

“The 300B is a power tube, not originally designed for pre-amp application. But after repeated requests from our hi-fi customer base for a pre-amp version of the 91E, our engineers worked on a solution,” Charles Whitener, CEO, says of this new offering. He adds, “As it turns out, the 91E becomes a world-class pre-amplifier after a few modifications.”

The 91E Pre-Amplifier is identical in appearance to its original, integrated version. All color options are the same. The only visible changes can be found on the output transformer cover plate on the top panel and on the rear panel (both pictured above), where Balanced Out (XLR - 600 ohms) options have been added. Careful, dedicated changes allow the 91E and its proven track record of quality and reliability to fill even more listening rooms.

Whitener continues, “And, since the 91E’s release in 2022, we’ve watched the number of 300B-based pre-amps grow in availability and popularity. We guarantee this pre-amp applies the the original 300B in a way that fully respects its characteristics as a power tube.”
